W-2 Form Deadline: If you haven’t received those messy, carbon-layered W-2 forms from your boss, be patient. Today is the deadline. Employers are required by law to make the Form W-2 Wage and Tax Statement, which contains information necessary for filing federal and state taxes, available to their employees. They are not, however, required to mail the forms. Some employers may take longer to send them because they lack technology and must rely on manual labor to complete loads of paperwork.
