You Might Say They’ve Had Flurry of Orders

SALT LAKE CITY — Business is snowballing, according to Snowballs Express, which ships three-inch Utah snowballs overnight to cities deprived of them.
Jim McPhail said he and co-owner Jeanne Frank get the snow from their yards or nearby mountains, place it in a plastic sphere, pack a box with dry ice and ship it for $19.95.
“The package carries an engraved plate guaranteeing the contents to be genuine Utah snow; no melting or icing,” McPhail said.
Since taking out a classified ad in the Los Angeles Times Christmas gift guide, McPhail and Frank say Snowballs Express has shipped more than 200 packages to hot spots across the country.
