Japan Reportedly Considers Cut in Car Exports: Japan is considering a reduction of its annual ceiling on car exports to the United States, according to the Kyodo news agency. Ministry of International Trade and Industry sources said the government will decide later this month whether to reduce the current export ceiling of 2.3 million cars and light trucks. Japan imposed a 1.68-million vehicle ceiling on exports to the United States in 1981, then raised it to 1.85 million in 1984 and to the current level in 1985.
