THOUSAND OAKS : City May Donate Money for Housing

Share

A nonprofit agency that provides emergency help to people in danger of becoming homeless may receive some emergency aid of its own tonight from the Thousand Oaks City Council.

The council will discuss giving the Ventura County Commission on Human Concerns $5,000 from the city’s Redevelopment Agency housing fund.

The money would be used to help four Thousand Oaks families who are facing eviction but who may not get help if the Commission on Human Concerns has no money, said John Servis, a spokesman for the organization. The commission has also requested an additional $5,000 until the end of June, said housing services manager Olav Hassel.
