Share

Despite the recession, USC on Monday reported its second-most successful six months of fund raising ever.

By the close of 1991, nearly 40,000 donors had contributed $56,073,781 to the Los Angeles school. The only midyear total that surpassed that amount occurred during the final year of “The Campaign for USC,” which ended June 30, 1990, university officials said.

The USC School of Medicine and the USC College of Letters, Arts and Sciences have been the most successful academic units, receiving gifts totaling $9.18 million and $8.68 million, respectively.
