Monrovia : Revenue Shortfall Projected

Share

A midyear budget review shows that the city is facing a $543,998 shortfall for fiscal year 1991-92.

The decline is due largely to a 10% drop in sales tax revenue that mirrors the nationwide recession, Finance Director Paul E. Harmon said.

The City Council voted unanimously Tuesday to remedy the shortfall by delaying purchases in several departments and allowing vacant city jobs to go unfilled for the next several months.
