Dancing Nudes Are Bad News

Share

The opening of the Extasy nude dance club at Corbin Avenue and Nordhoff flagrantly disregarded public opinion as well as being against city ordinances. Whose rights are being protected? The citizens, patrons and business persons of the Northridge business area or a handful of sneaky and contemptible nightclub promoters?

It is bad enough that businesses in this area have already suffered the weekly Friday and Saturday night crowds that frequented the Breakers’ live band performances. These led to broken glass in parking lots, encroachment on parking at other establishments, bloody fights, loud noise, urination in parking areas, vagrants, thefts and shot-out office windows.

Now we are being forced to deal with pornographic entertainment and the type of lowlife and crime it engenders, within a stone’s throw of several family-oriented restaurants, several large banking corporations, a day-care center, the youth-oriented Malibu Grand Prix racetrack and arcade center and the entire Northridge Fashion Center shopping mall.

These nightclub promoters think that by carefully avoiding alcoholic beverages and obtaining other city permits that it is then their right to impose their corruption on family-oriented establishments. They’re wrong. Everyone who finds this type of nightclub objectionable and illegal should contact Councilman Hal Bernson’s office.
