PLATFORM : Dignity for Vets

Veterans who have expressed the wish that they be buried in a national cemetery deserve assurance--as do their family members--that the VA is fully committed to maintaining the dignity and availability of these sites.

Here in California, the Riverside National Cemetery has benefited from a significant budget increase and staff dedication to restoring areas damaged by extreme drought and heavy rains.

Next spring, the VA will open a new cemetery at San Joaquin. Nationwide, our expansion plans are well under way, focusing on 10 regions in need of new burial space.

As the veteran population ages and as demand increases, the VA intends to make certain that choosing burial in a national cemetery remains not only an option, but is desirable choice for those who served this nation and seek final rest among their comrades.
