Hooray for Fillmore

Regarding “A Big Picture on the Little Tramp” (Jan. 26), I find your reporter, David Gritten, extremely insulting in his reference to the City of Fillmore as “a dusty little town between Magic Mountain and Santa Paula.”
Fillmore is a city of 15,000 residents, many of whom are associated with one of the nation’s largest citrus packing plants. It has a widespread reputation for its excellent schools and low profile in crime.
The segment of “Chaplin” filmed outside Fillmore was shot in Bardsdale, a rural community and one of few left in Southern California.
