The City Council on Monday allocated $160,579 in federal grants to several community service organizations, but it postponed a decision on using $7,000 for school-related projects until the Bonita Unified School District clarifies how it wants the money used.
The largest recipient of the city’s federal Community Development Block Grant money is Tri-City Mental Health Center, which will receive $9,116.
Other recipients are House of Ruth (for battered women), $4,000; University of La Verne’s child-care program, $4,000; Intervale Senior Services (for senior hot-lunch program), $6,000; Meals on Wheels, $6,000, and Project Sister (for sexual assault victims), $4,000.
The remainder will be spent on public works projects and program administration.
