German track officials temporarily lifted a ban on sprinters Katrin Krabbe, Grit Breuer and Silke Moeller, who were suspended because of suspicious drug tests. The German newspaper Bild said urine samples taken from the three athletes were clean but were so similar that they could have come from the same person.

Breuer competed in the German Indoor Track Championships, where she ran the 200 meters in 23.03 seconds. Krabbe and Moeller are not scheduled to run until today.

Results of new drug tests on the three athletes are to be announced today, and if they are guilty of wrongdoing they could be suspended for up to four years.

However, Helmut Meyer, president of the German Track Assn., said he fears the new tests could prove inconclusive and a long legal battle could ensue.
