From Staff and Wire Reports
Rain has devastated some San Fernando Valley courses, most notably the heavily played public courses in the Sepulveda Basin, Encino and Balboa.
Water that swept the basin brought with it tons of mud and debris, much of which was deposited on the two courses. About six greens were completely buried by mud and will take months to repair or replace after the water subsides, according to officials at the Department of Recreation and Parks. It is not known how long the courses will be closed.
