Cray Scales Back: Cray Computer Corp. said it has scaled back development plans for a supercomputer after losing its lone customer and is searching for a partner. The announcement is another distress signal from the Colorado Springs-based firm. It lost its only customer for the Cray-3 in December when Lawrence Livermore National Laboratories decided to buy a similar computer from Cray Computer’s former parent and chief competitor, Cray Research Inc.
