Proposed Code for Filmmakers

Medved’s column is right on and long overdue. Yes, the creative minds, or more likely, the minds of the people who finance new films, are sick and misguided. They seem interested only in making money any way they can, and damn the idea of balance, decency, goodness, prudence or truth. Their answer to criticism is to wrap themselves in the Constitution and their rights of free expression. This, invariably followed by the cop-out remark that they are only giving the viewing public what it wants. It’s about time somebody told the viewing public what it wants. It’s about time somebody told the emperor he has no clothes on.
