NATION IN BRIEF : UTAH : Avalanche Trackers Killed by Snowslide

Four experienced skiers were killed by a snowslide while on a volunteer avalanche observation team checking the lower slopes of southeastern Utah’s Golden Basin. Two other members of the six-person U.S. Forest Service team escaped. More than two dozen rescuers on skis trudged through the rugged mountains to recover the bodies of the three men and a woman who died near Geyser Pass.
