General Motors Sparks a Variety of Grievances

Share

Have the managers at GM lost their marbles along with their ethics?!

While they seem to readily recognize the limitations of dummies (inanimate models that simulate human structure), they see nothing incongruent about smashing up animals to supposedly evaluate crash damage to human internal organs, “The Head-On Debate Over Crash Safety” (Jan. 5).

Are they serious?! Do the pigs wear seat and shoulder belts? Are they propped up in a sitting position? The last time I looked, a pig had vastly different size, weight and body structure and function than humans.

With this sad example of GM’s thinking, it’s no wonder grants for their “research” are scarce and they can’t seem to compete in the world auto market.
