THE LOST COMMANDOS

Share

We seem to hold in high esteem the heroic glamour of camouflage-faced individuals going against the evil enemy, but turn our backs on the harsh reality of the Vietnamese men and women who were captured or killed (“The Lost Commandos,” by Dan Weikel and Thuan Le, Jan. 12).

Write your government officials! Let’s do something a little better than a 10-by-12-foot slum room and a handful of food stamps every month for these Vietnamese recruits. The K-9 dogs get better retirement and mustering-out benefits than these commandos did.
