Two Oak Park juveniles suspected in a two-week-long vandalism spree involving about 40 victims were arrested Monday, the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department said.
The children, whose names were not released because they are minors, were apprehended Monday after sheriff’s deputies received a call about 4 a.m. The youngsters, ages 12 and 13, had broken into Medea Creek Middle School and vandalized a car in Oak Park, Sgt. Greg Whitesell said.
The youths are suspected of taking part in a series of crimes that began early this month on Kanan Road and Smoketree and Locust avenues. The vandalism included smashing car windows and slashing tires, Whitesell said. About 40 victims have contacted authorities so far.
If the youths are found guilty in Juvenile Court, they will be required to reimburse victims, he added.
