Microsemi Corp.: Slowed by the recession, the Santa Ana maker of custom semiconductor chips reported recently that its net income was $295,000 for the first quarter ended Dec. 29, down 64% from $830,000 a year earlier.

Earnings per share decreased to 1 cent; they were 4 cents a year earlier. Revenue was unchanged at $19.5 million.
