CAMARILLO : Commission OKs Permit for Carwash

Share

Camarillo planning commissioners approved a permit Tuesday for a drive-through carwash off two roads that the city has designated as scenic.

Kest Investment of Los Angeles, which obtained the permit, wants to erect a two-story complex of 5,256 square feet on a parcel east of Santa Rosa Road, north of the Ventura Freeway and south of Adolfo Road.

Santa Rosa and the freeway are designated as scenic routes in the city’s General Plan, requiring that “particular attention be given to architectural style, colors, textures, material and landscaping,” said Matthew A. Boden, city planning and community development director.

The vacant site is zoned for commercial use. It abuts a Unocal gasoline station to the west.

Commissioners also approved an application by Alex and Sylvia Acuna of Ventura to build a two-story building for a retail tire business on the east side of Arneill Road north of Lomita Street.
