Ottawa, Canada, has turned thumbs down on allowing popular heavy-metal rock bands Guns N’ Roses and Metallica to play past an 11 p.m. curfew. . . . Jazz musician Dizzy Gillespie was scheduled to be released from a Berkeley hospital Thursday, after being admitted Tuesday night when exhaustion overtook him during a show at a local club. Doctors prescribed rest for the next few days.
