Council Spectacle

“Up yours and the horse you rode in on, jerk.” Shakespeare? Byron? Jack Kelly? No--it’s Huntington Beach’s latest embarrassment, that silver-tongued devil, Councilman Earle (the Suave) Robitaille (“Robitaille Responds Angrily to Critic,” Feb. 5).
Again we are graced with an oaf who thinks serving on the City Council entitles him to run roughshod over the citizens he is supposed to serve. How would you like to have this guy over to dinner while you’re trying to impress your boss?
But we might as well just sit back and enjoy the spectacle. Robitaille is not capable enough to be dangerous, and his buffoonery can be quite entertaining once you give up any expectation of responsible leadership.
