Baxter Healthcare Corp.’s Glendale-based Hyland Division and American Healthcare Systems said they have signed a three-year, $105-million agreement for Hyland to supply plasma-derived products to American Healthcare hospitals.
The companies said the agreement, which becomes effective March 2, reflects a growing trend in the health-care industry to produce products more efficiently while reducing the risk of product shortages.
Baxter Healthcare, based in Deerfield, Ill., is the principal U.S. operating subsidiary of Baxter International Inc., a health-care products manufacturer with 1991 revenue of $8.9 billion. American Healthcare is a San Diego operator of health-care facilities.
