Los Angeles Marathon Street Closures : Marathon-Related Events

A number of events that are open to the public will precede Sunday’s seventh running of the 26.2-mile race through the streets of Los Angeles.

Thursday-Saturday

Quality of Life Expo--A free exposition featuring more than 300 exhibitors promoting goods, food, travel, ecology and services relating to health and lifestyles. The Los Angeles Convention Center, 1201 S. Figueroa St., from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday; 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, and 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday.

Saturday

Carbo-Load Dinner--Shrine Exposition Hall, 665 W. Jefferson Blvd., 5 & 7 p.m. seatings. Cost of pasta, entertainment and dancing is $10.

Kids’ Fun Run--UCLA, Drake Stadium at 9 a.m., for grades 1 to 3.

Sunday

Wheelchair Marathon--Figueroa Street and Exposition Boulevard, adjacent to the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, 8:35 a.m. Entry, $35 per person. Deadline for registering is Saturday.

Racewalking Division--Figueroa Street and Exposition Boulevard, 8:40 a.m. Entry, $35 per person; entry deadline Saturday.

Runner Division--Figueroa Street and Exposition Boulevard, 9:05 a.m. Entry, $35 per person; entry deadline Saturday.

5K Marathon--33rd and Figueroa streets, 9:30 a.m. Entry, $10 per person; entry deadline Saturday.

Finish Line Festival--In front of the Los Angeles County Museum of Natural History, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The event is free and features entertainment from KIIS-FM, giveaways, food and displays from about 60 companies.
