Open for Business: The NuWilshire Theatres, a twin-screen complex, opens today in Santa Monica on Wilshire Boulevard, giving the area another venue for offbeat, revival and foreign-language films. The theaters, formerly operated by Mann Theaters, were acquired this month by Landmark Theaters, which is owned by the Samuel Goldwyn Theatre Group. Landmark also runs the popular Nuart Theater revival house on Santa Monica Boulevard. NuWilshire’s first film is Jean Cocteau’s “Beauty and the Beast.” On Friday, the second theater will open with “The Lunatic.”
