Borland Upgrades Database Product: Borland International Inc. introduced the first upgraded database product from Ashton-Tate Corp., which it acquired just four months ago. The new dBASE IV, which stores and controls information, was one of three product upgrades that Borland announced this week as it prepared to break ground Friday on a new headquarters to accommodate rapid growth. On Monday, it introduced a pumped-up version of its graphic spreadsheet program, Quattro Pro 4.0. Today, the Scotts Valley-based firm will introduce an upgraded version of its popular C + + program, which developers use to write software.
