Busy spring: Despite concerns from members of the Southern California Basketball Coaches Assn., spring leagues are on the increase in the Southland.
Rich Goldberg, administrator of the American Roundball Corp., which operates spring leagues in 13 locations, anticipates more than 2,000 players from seventh to 12th grade will participate in the 15th Future Stars Spring Basketball Development League.
“We’ll have 45 to 50 locations throughout the United States and, for the first time, we’re going into Canada and Australia,” Goldberg said.
Registration for the county’s ARC league will be March 8 and March 15, at 1 p.m. at Westminster High School. Registration fee is $110 cash or $125 check, which includes a T-shirt, jersey, shorts and shoes.
