Gun Control Controversy

Regarding gun control, I have an internal conflict which may reach to (most) other people.

Side 1: I don’t see anything wrong with placing some limits on guns. People certainly don’t need rapid-fire automatic weapons. “Saturday night special” types of weapons should be banned, etc.

Side 2: We currently have a constitutional prohibition to the control of “arms.” Any erosion of a constitutional limit opens the dam to overly severe restriction, outright ban, too much government control and dictatorship. Can we risk that limit?

I don’t have a final solution either. We must be very careful in this area.
