Sierra Madre : Day Laborers Leave Park

Share

Police Chief Bill Betts has assured the City Council that, due to police efforts, day laborers have left the area.

Betts said Tuesday that police officers, assisted by Spanish-speaking city workers, visited Memorial Park, at Sierra Madre Boulevard and Hermosa Avenue, on Feb. 19. They told 20 to 24 men that they are not allowed to loiter in the park.

Although Betts said the problem is not permanently solved, he said most of the men have not returned.
