Virus Infects Some Intel Software: The company said it has stopped shipping some of its LANSpool software after discovering that a number of programs were infected by the “Michelangelo” computer virus. The Santa Clara, Calif.-based firm, the world’s biggest computer chip manufacturer, urged customers who have purchased its LANSpool 3.01 print server utility to take precautionary measures. A new version that is fully tested and verified to be virus-free--LANSpool 3.02 utility--became available Monday, the firm said. The products are software packages that allow networks of personal computers to use the same printer.
