Bush’s Secret Aid for Iraq

Share

Can no one see it? The Reagan-Bush strategy of supporting and using Iraq to crush Iran, the most dangerous threat to the region, was only the first half of a brilliant move. The second half was to blitz Iraq in a war that inflicted hundreds of thousands of casualties on the enemy at a cost of about 50 of our own, probably a first in the history of warfare. Follow this up with the restraint Bush showed in resisting the strong temptation to pulverize Iraq in order to retain a buffer against a resurgent Iran and you have an example of force plus diplomacy applied at its best. And I haven’t even mentioned oil.

If the American people can’t see this in spite of the sand thrown in their eyes by the liberal press, they deserve to be governed by one of the clowns the Democrats are running against Bush.
