Israeli, Palestinian Killed in Shootout

JERUSALEM —
An Israeli soldier and a Palestinian militant were killed Thursday in a shootout that occurred when an undercover army unit raided an Arab hideout in the occupied Gaza Strip, the army and Arab reports said.
Seven others were arrested, the army said.
The dead Israeli soldier was identified as Cpl. Baruch Ben-Shimon, 20, of Safed.
