Top Chinese Official to Visit Japan in April

BEIJING —
Jiang Zemin, general secretary of China’s Communist Party, will visit Japan April 6-10, the Foreign Ministry said Friday.
It will be the first time a Chinese Communist Party leader has visited a democratic industrialized nation since Beijing ordered troops to crush pro-democracy demonstrators in June 1989.
