South Pasadena : Council Freezes Hiring

The City Council last week placed a hiring freeze on all city departments except police and fire agencies.
The council announced the action after a closed session Wednesday night.
Mayor Dick Richards said the indefinite suspension of new hirings was necessary because of impending budget problems.
