Better Brazil

Share

It appears that any time an article is written about Brazil, which is mainly Rio de Janeiro, it is always negative and in poor taste. Sure, Rio is a city with many social problems--just like many other big cities in the world. What was Julia Preston’s article (“Getting Exposed to the Good Life in Sultry Rio,” Feb. 9) about? Is that the way she evaluates a city: by checking out the dress code of the bank tellers?

Why not get a reporter who can write about the beautiful tourist destinations of the southeast and northeast coastal regions, the wonderful nature of the Pantanal or any of the other beautiful and interesting areas/cities of Brazil?
