A Neo-Luddite Look at People vs. Nature

Share

Hats off to your staff writer Bob Sipchen and his profound, splendidly written article “Stop The World” (Feb. 25).

While humanity teeters on the brink of extinction, our brainless brain trusts are playing three-dimensional tiddlywinks with the vulgar, techno-excessive “virtual reality.” While men play Fantasy Toy with computerized Hula-Hoops, our planet is vanishing before our eyes and we are degenerates in virtual denial. We have lost perspective and our virtual intelligence has failed to save us from ourselves.

In 100 years, man has destroyed the perfect paradise that was here for millions of years. We intentionally chose to contaminate our own home, vandalize our very existence with shortsighted, high-tech stupidity and greed.

We are infected with fatal contempt for Mother Nature and the perfect efficiency of natural order, and have written our own prescription for self-destruction.
