Westwood : Discussion of Fox Plans
An open meeting of the Westwood Homeowners’ Assn. to discuss the proposed 20th Century Fox expansion plan will be held Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. at Fairburn Elementary School.
According to a press release, City Councilman Zev Yaroslavsky will attend the meeting to answer questions and respond to concerns about the impact of the major overhaul of the historic studio.
Fox is seeking to add 771,000 square feet of new construction and to tear down and rebuild many existing structures on its 53-acre parcel in Century City, for a total of 1.89 million square feet. In order to proceed, the studio, owned by media baron Rupert Murdoch, needs the city’s permission to change the area’s zoning.
Neil H. Jacoby Jr., a director of the homeowners group, said that any Westwood residents are welcome to attend the meeting. There will also be a discussion of a police program to combat auto theft.
Fairburn Elementary is at 1403 Fairburn Ave. The entrance to the auditorium is on Ohio Avenue.
