Beatty, Bening Privately Wed

Warren Beatty and Annette Bening, who met last year during the making of the Oscar-nominated film “Bugsy,” are now husband and wife. The two tied the knot “not too long ago,” according to the actress’s publicist, Nancy Seltzer, who says the couple prefer to keep details of the event private.

The ceremony was attended only by the bride and groom and their 2-month-old daughter, Kathlyn, whom the couple said was their maid of honor. The marriage is the first for Beatty, 54, and the second for Bening, 33, whose first marriage to director Steven White ended in divorce.

Beatty and Bening have just returned from a trip to Washington, where Beatty spoke in favor of labeling films that have been altered; to Japan, where “Bugsy” is No. 1 at the box office since opening a week and a half ago, and to Europe, where the film is being released this week.
