This letter is a response to the recent cheap attacks on UCLA Coach Jim Harrick, the only coach in Bruin history to win 20 games in each of his first four years. His recruiting has been competitive with other big-time basketball programs. Even John Wooden needed 17 years to win his first national title. Coincidentally, it has been 17 years since the last Bruin championship. True, the Bruins lost three in a row recently, but that happens to most teams during the course of a season.
One would think that a 23-4 record is a disaster after reading the negative letters of last Saturday. Keep up the good work, Jim Harrick.
