AND ONE MORE THING: First Hank Williams Jr. “duets” with his famed father, then Natalie Cole does the same with her dad. Now drummer Jason Bonham has been interviewed together with his late father, Led Zeppelin drummer John (Bonzo) Bonham.

Well, not exactly.

Andy Doerschuck, editor of Drum! magazine, a giveaway published in San Jose, took a 20-year-old interview he did with Papa Bonham and asked Jason the same questions. The tandem interview, in the current issue of Drum!, is fairly routine stuff (“Tell me about the new album”), but still gives some insight into the way Jason relates to his dad’s legacy, while also making it clear that it will always be tough for him to escape it.

Among the highlights: John said that he went into his father’s building business before taking up drumming as a career (“drumming was the only thing I was any good at”), while Jason contemplated a career in motocross racing.
