Moldovan Officer Killed by Rebels

KISHINEV, Moldova —
A Moldovan policeman was killed early Saturday by separatists in the breakaway Dniester region of eastern Moldova, officials said Saturday.
Separatists opened fire on a police car, killing Nikolai Sotmichenko and wounding several other officers, Interior Ministry spokesman Dumitru Corleteanu said.
