Librarians
In a Times article, Frances Stiglich, Hawthorne civic activist, is compared to a “librarian with a penchant for shushing rowdy schoolchildren” (“A Penny Saved,” March 5).
I am a school librarian and I and the librarian colleagues I know do not “shush.” We encourage reading and productive use of the library.
I think The Times should refrain from the use of negative stereotypes just to be cute.
