Share

The Regional Educational Television Advisory Council will sponsor the National Teacher Training Institute for Southern California teachers Saturday and Sunday at the Shilo Inn in Diamond Bar.

The institute shows teachers how to use television to interest students in science. In a series of workshops, 14 master teachers will direct 130 elementary and middle school teachers in the creative use of video in the science classroom.

Master teachers from the San Gabriel Valley are Laureen Lee Fontes, a science teacher at Kranz Intermediate School in El Monte; Irene Phillips-Hoppe, a kindergarten teacher at Noyes Elementary School in Altadena, and Robert Stebbins, a science teacher at Garvey Intermediate School in Rosemead.
