SHORES OF TRIPOLI: During last month’s floods, the Marines came to the rescue of the South Coast Water District not once, but twice. . . . First, an El Toro-based group airlifted 12 stranded workers trapped by creek flooding in Aliso Canyon. Then a Camp Pendleton group replaced a critical Aliso Creek bridge that washed away. This week board members gave awards to both groups. . . . “The Marines were lifesavers,” says the district’s Linda Jones.
