NASA in Final Stages for Atlantis Countdown

KENNEDY SPACE CENTER, Fla. —
NASA made final preparations Thursday to begin a countdown today for the space shuttle Atlantis, due to lift off next week on an atmospheric research mission. Atlantis will carry 13 scientific instruments in its cargo bay on the eight-day flight. The crew will be made up of six men and one woman.
