Owners of the Sacramento Kings say they have tentatively agreed to sell a controlling interest in the NBA team and its arena to Southern California developers.

Fred Anderson, one of the team’s principal owners, confirmed that a deal to sell 53% of the team and the arena had been struck at a meeting last Sunday.

However, in a prepared statement, Southern California commercial developer Jim Thomas denied that the deal was done.
