No Justice Seen in Judge’s Sentence

I love my son-in-law. He is a wonderful husband to our daughter and a loving father to our two grandchildren. Of course, if I didn’t like him, I could go out and buy a Mercedes-Benz 500 SEL, run him down with it and then make sure that my case was tried before Superior Court Judge John J. Ryan (“Stepmother Sentenced to House Arrest in Slaying,” March 7).

Maybe Betty Young Davies should sue her stepdaughter for damages sustained by Betty’s Mercedes when she hit and killed James Ward.

What does the middle initial in Judge Ryan’s name stand for? It certainly can’t be Justice!

Editor’s note: Betty Young Davies was convicted in October, 1991, of vehicular manslaughter and hit-and-run in the 1989 death of James Ward, her stepdaughter’s husband. She was sentenced March 6 to one year of house arrest, three years of probation and ordered to pay $7,500 in fines and restitution.
