Thousands Flee Violence in Zaire

KAMPALA, Uganda —
Thousands of Zaireans have fled to Uganda following fighting between government troops and rebels in eastern Zaire, residents of the area said Friday.
They said that up to 200 refugees were crossing daily into the remote Ugandan town of Bundibugwo, 210 miles west of Kampala, where drought has already cut local food supplies.
