Senior Housing Options Will Be Explored at Fair

Share

There have never been more housing choices for the elderly--aging in place, active-adult communities, congregate care, reverse mortgages and much more--but sorting out all the options can be confusing.

A special 1 1/2-hour workshop at the third annual Los Angeles Times Home Buyers and Sellers Fair will offer fair-goers a chance to get expert advice on the latest developments in senior housing. The session will begin at 1 p.m., Sunday, April 5.

C. Edward Wolf from the American Assn. of Retired Persons will present an overview of Southland housing choices for seniors. Times Real Estate writers David W. Myers will discuss reverse mortgages and Evelyn De Wolfe will describe senior communities and lifestyles.

The fair will be held Saturday, April 4, and Sunday, April 5, at the Los Angeles Convention Center and run from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days. This year the fair is presented in cooperation with La Opinion, the nation’s largest Spanish-language newspaper, which will present special seminars each day in Spanish.

Two full days of consumer-oriented question-and-answer programs will feature realty industry experts providing timely guidance on home buying, selling and financing.

About 60 exhibitors--many of the Southland’s biggest realtors, home builders and mortgage lenders, as well as state and federal housing agencies--will be on hand to answer questions. See ad on K13.
