Discount Coupons Available for Florida

Travelers to Florida have some new and old discount programs to consider.

Alamo Rent A Car has extended the expiration date of its Florida Coupon Booklet to run through March 31, 1993. Originally, the 48 discount coupons on various Florida attractions were valid through April 30, 1992, and then extended through Sept. 30. But popularity of the booklets have now brought about a second extension.

The coupon booklet is available at all 17 Alamo locations throughout Florida at the time of rental, which can be for only one day. Many of the coupons offer discounts to four to six persons. Among the attractions covered are Busch Gardens in Tampa, Sea World and Universal Studios in Orlando, and the Seaquarium, Monkey Jungle and Vizcaya Museum and Gardens in Miami.

The coupons also provide discounts for boat rentals, dinner theaters, restaurants, river cruises, hot-air balloon rides and video camera rentals.

Entertainment Publications is now offering its popular discount coupon books for the cities of Orlando, Fla., and Miami. The company, based in Troy, Mich., publishes discount books for more than 100 cities throughout the United States. Other Florida cities covered are Tampa, Ft. Lauderdale and Jacksonville.

Each book includes sections featuring 2-for-1 offers at restaurants, plus various discounts on sightseeing attractions, shopping, sports/cultural events and car rentals. In addition, some hotels offer 50% off regular rates. There are also coupons for airline discounts.

The Exit Information Guide is continuing to offer a free 120-page Florida Traveler Discount Guide tailored to auto travelers. The booklet includes discounts for restaurants, accommodations, shopping malls, factory outlets and attractions along Florida’s interstate highways, plus mileage charts and maps.
